Please allow me to configure my webmail account to post errors & sites I cannot access

Even though I use gmail, Every time I try to send a support email - and this is with the paid version - all I get is an error message telling me my client is not properly configured.
This is beyond frustrating, as the built-in web stuff seems to be insisting in my using Internet Explorer, and I will never, ever use that POS browser.
