linux xbc error

when I try to launch 4K Video Downloader in Kubuntu 18.10, the program quickly closes after launch. When I run it from terminal, I get errors like

qt.qpa.plugin: Could not find the Qt platform plugin "xcb" in ""

Anyone else having this same problem with the current version?
