subtitles cannot be seen in Windows Media player

Hello
I have downloaded an mp4 file with 4K downloader from YouTube.
now I can see the subtitles in VLC but I cannot see them in Windows Media Player (the subtitles option has been set to "if available" but they still cannot be seen)
Can you please tell me how I can fix this problem in order to see the subtitles in WMP ?
