I used to be able to download 4K videos in 4K resolution. Why can I only choose up to HD resolution now, enven if the video is listed as 4K?

I figured out that YouTube does not have 4K in MP4 format now. The MKV format does have 4K downloads for those videos advertised as 4K. I didn't think that my LG UHD TV would play MKV files, but it does!
