The program was working flawlessly up until I installed the latest version. It will now crash all of the time, and only downloads or updates after I have attempted to manually update serveral times

Sounds like the EXACT same thing I reported here:

weeks ago. And many others have been reporting as well. Obviously, the problem still exists & the developers don't seem to care enough to ask for any more details from a registered user.
